I had my dog did something to me that was quite odd and very funny if you ask me. Here's what happen, when I brought him home when he was a puppy. I had habits of placing Jake onto my lap while I’m surfing onto the net. He was 8Week old at the time. Now tonight I was surfing on the net and Jake came walking up to me and had the look that he done something wrong so I had checked to see if he ate from the litter box , which he had not. I then notice that Jake was trying to get on top of my lap and then started laying. After 10 sec later, Jake started moving his back legs and his left leg was on my leg, with all of his nails stabbing on my leg, thank god I didn't’t cut his nails! After getting his left on top he then used his other and he was fully standing on top of me, while I was sitting on my computer chair (Note that my chair is not BIG!) I had started laughing and was talking to Jake of what was he doing, I couldn't stop laughing and then Jake was turning around and then was laying down right onto my lap. I started going back of how I handled Jake when he was a puppy and I started thinking that maybe he really enjoyed it? I don’t think Jake had ever forgotten when I had placed him on my lap when he was a baby. In my now own views of dogs memory’s that, I don’t think it’s so short after all.
What does everybody else think of this incident?

I think that story is very hilarious and cute. I can see my dog doing the same thing. It is so funny how our dogs act, and the moods the have. For instance, our dog has this mood she gets into sometimes where she has to be touching you when she is chewing on her bone or something. She will badger you until you get down on the floor, so she can bring her bone in and then lay her paw on/over your leg and commence chewing for 15 or 20 minutes.
That may also come from the fact that when she was a small pup, i spent a lot of time on the floor with her.
You have to love the unique temperments of the GSD. :- )

Sounds like he wants to be a lap dog. Even the smartest dogs do some things that seem, to us, pretty dumb. I suppose, if we could discus them with the dog, they might actually make sense.
You hav to control the dog's behaviour to your own standards, of course. But when they do random, goofy stuff there's not much to do but laugh.
