Thanks, everyone!
I'll tell you, you get a whole different perspective on the daily news reports about what is going on in Iraq when you actually have a family member over there.

Thanks, everyone! I'll tell you, you get a whole different perspective on the daily news reports about what is going on in Iraq when you actually have a family member over there. Ain't that the truth? My nephew just got home not too long ago, a big sigh of relief. His job was to prevent oil wells from being destroyed, and a big thumbs up to the Aust. Special Forces for a great job. That's a lovely story about your guy and I know you're proud of him, MOM. <grin> Jan

Yes, Andi, please tell your son that HE is appreciated for his service, and to spread the word that THIS American is grateful for the sacrifice of each and every PERSON serving in Iraq and other countries. It's a team effort, and it's gotta be tough. There's no Gravy Train over there! Thanks for posting the picture.
Janis, please share the same message with your nephew, the next time you speak with him. I'm glad he's back home.

thank you for sharing that w/us, Andi. It's always so nice to hear the personal stories. I was a Marine Corps brat myself, and I remember how thrilled we were to get letters/news from my dad when he was away. The next time your son writes home for food ;D, tell him how much we appreciate his service!!

Hooah!
May he accomplish his mission, and come home safely, soon. We're praying for him.
I'll have a drink in his honour, tonight.

Andi, as a former US Army special forces team member, (now reserves) I salute your son. I was called up 6 weeks ago from reserve status for a brief mission to Gutamala, and was shot in the arm. God speed to him and all of our bretheren home and abroad. Tell him this for me. "Its a fine day to be in the Army, fine day, this ole' Army is alright by me, HOOAH!"

Mike, I hope you're healing well! As Dennis would say "Lots of dog kisses. They have healing enzymes" <grin>
