I would like to ask for input / critique on something. We have just launched a website that should prove to be a very handy thing for dog owners. Wendy and I came up with this when we felt so bad leaving Tiger alone on our boat in a busy marina, where you never know what could happen. Hence the brainwave. We created a very personal, Secure Gateway, real time viewing portal. The service works great, and it makes us feel good to be able to have a peek at how things are back home. Check it out, it really is a very user friendly platform, and for a couple of bucks a month you can have a real time, live image of your dog with you, on your desktop at work, or anywhere you travel in the world. All you need is a cheap webcam at home, a computer on-line to the Internet, and you can log into your own, Password Protected portal from any computer. (We employ ServerSide Authentication, so using the service is as private and as safe as it is to use your credit card on-line.) The service can be used to monitor kennels, your back yard or living room, where ever your GSD likes to hang out when you're not around. Feedback and input would be much appreciated from anyone. Click the link please and look around: www.nevertoofar.netThanks, Capt. Joe & Tiger The Cruising Canine

I don't think I'm understanding the entire picture--Who takes care of your dog at the Marina while you're gone?

There is a certain advantage to web based video security systems. What do you offer that I can't do myself? I'm pretty ignorant of webcam technology. What equipment would I need to purchase and how would I interface with your service? Can you support multiple video inputs or control a pan and tilt system?
I have some mild concern that this kind of service could be used as an excuse to neglect your kids or your dogs, but those people don't need an excuse anyway.
