Hi Blitzen 123, I understand where you're coming from. If you post a question or statement on a BB, you expect some response as to intended actions to help. I pledge to send a small dontation of $20, which is all that I can afford right now. Actually, the situation made me so physically ill and emotionally distraught, that I had to avoid thinking about it until I could process it. It's so, so very sad to hear about suffering.

Hi Blitzen 123,
Actually, the situation made me so physically ill and emotionally distraught, that I had to avoid thinking about it until I could process it. It's so, so very sad to hear about suffering.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm going back on my word to not post to this list again since there is good news to report today. I, and many others, received a message that the organization that began the rescue effort has been so overwhelmed with donations that they cannot manage the volume. So, they are returning what has been donated to them and are offering other alternatives. The details can be viewed at gsdhaven.com
My thanks to those who understood my intent in trying to solicit some donations for this crisis. Having been involved in rescue (another breed) and during my 15 year tenure as a vet tech, I have witnessed many acts of animal abuse and cruelty. Possibly things most of you haven't seen. One dog with a bullet in his head put there by an owner who no longer wanted him, he would not die. Another, this one a GSD bitch with a vibrator broken off inside her vagina. Along with the usual too small collars grown into necks, maggots, etc.. What sort of people do things like this?
If my big mouth resulted in just $1.00 being donated to this rescue, then I guess it was worth taking it on the chin ;D.

Hello Blitzen:
I personally am glad to see that you have decided to stay with us, and I encourage you to continue to participate regularly.
However, I had to comment on why some here were offended by your quote "Shame on you."
Insulting an entire population of people without knowing what they have done to contribute, or what is going on in their current life situation, is downright rude. I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound here, as I see you have apologized, but I felt the need to comment anyways.
Speaking personally, I did not have the ability to focus on this horrendous situation in Chicago, as I have family members and a very dear friend who are very ill with cancer. I also just found out another friend of mine has 3 to 5 years left to live, as she has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a fatal lung disease. She is 34 years old and has 6 children. Therefore, my priorities are focused elsewhere, as they should be. I could also accuse you, Blitzen, of not caring about terminally ill humans, because you haven't posted a solicitation to help these particular causes. Do you see my point?
So I ask you, and others out there, who feel the need to judge others, based on ignorance of the facts, to please consider posting with more thought and insight. Yes, I too, am sickened, and horrified by the news of this mess in Illinois. But you are not going to gain sympathy for your cause by wrongly accusing people of not caring.

[]Hello Blitzen: However, I had to comment on why some here were offended by your quote "Shame on you." Consider me soundly thrashed once again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I could also accuse you, Blitzen, of not caring about terminally ill humans, because you haven't posted a solicitation to help these particular causes. Do you see my point? I certainly do as I lost my mother to breast cancer and have spent my last 30 years working in behalf of the American Cancer Society. I must say that you people are as tough as your dogs (and that is not an insult so don't beat me up for that one). Blitzen123

Excellent post Jezzi/Laurie.
My grandmother always said "until you've walked a mile in another persons shoes" SHUT UP!
I think enough has been said on this topic so lets move on. Tis the season to forgive. Not that every day is not.
