Does anyone know if this kind of dog food is good for all GSD's My pup started yesterday having diarrhea and today there was blood in her stool. I am very concerned. My vet had me withhold food and water today for 4 hrs. I had to make boiled ground meat and rice and give her a few tablespoons. She inhaled it. She has a wonderful appetite and simply loves drinking water. She continues to have alot of pep and doesn't act sick. The breeder had fed her this dog food and I have continued with it. Tomarrow I have a vet appointment. It just killed me to starve my baby for that 4 hours. She is only 10 wks. old. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about BilJac that would cause the symptoms you are describing. It sounds like a parasitic infection. You vet will no-doubt consider that possibility.
"Starving" the pup for four hours won't hurt her. They routinely go for far longer than that without eating.

Good news!! My pup was checked for Parvo and parasites. None found. An X-ray was done and 4 small rocks were found in her intestines. She sures likes to eat rocks. Everytime I see her, I pull one out of her mouth. Evidently I missed 4 small ones!! Boy was this a scare. I thought it was the food or worse... like Parvo. They think she should pass them on her own because they are small. How can you stop them from eating small things like rocks? Sometimes it seems impossible.

That's great that they were able to diagnose your little girl so quickly, Suz. Be very careful with the rocks, though, as I know someone near me who's young dog died from eating landscape rocks. They were the sharp lava rocks.
Maybe try to have lots of bones available for her to 'find' while she's exploring outside. That may take her focus off of the rock chewing.
Hope they pass without incident. Can't wait to see pictures of her!

Sandy, I would love to send pics of her but I don't know how to put them on this site yet. Thanks, you have a good idea about the bones.
