I have a litter of German Shepherd pups, the mother is a beautiful East German female, the father is a nice male from here in the States. All of the pups are pretty much predominantly black, except for one that has a brown coat like its mother. But 2 of the black pups each have a tiny bit of white on the very tip of there tail. Is this unsual or unheard of in a GSD ? The pups are about 4 weeks old.
Thank you in advance.

Hi CountryLiving
Don't panic once the puppies gain their full adult coat this will not be noticable.
The white tends to either grow out or mingle with the other hair in the tail and just disappears. The white tips in the tail do not seem to have any affect on the pigmentations of the dog and progeny of puppies with white tails do not seem to throw any pigmentation in the following generation.
hoping that this helps you with your problem. If there is any other question if you could just take a photo of the offending tail not the whole puppy and post the photo of the tail only. This would assist us to assess the situation more throughly.
Regards
Freundhund
