I have a question for everyone. At a USA sanctioned show, is it still possible to enter and go for the dog's fist confirmation rating, let's say on Saturday; then, go on Sunday for the breed survey at the same show? I know it was that way, but for some reason I was thinking they were moving away from that? The dog would have it's AD, IP1, hip cert requirements completed.

Yes, this is possible. However, the dog may not do his breed survey on Saturday and pick up his first show rating required for the survey on Sunday.
For a discussion of these issues, refer to the message by Johannes Grewe on page 7 of the November/December issue of SCHUTZHUND USA.

I know the confirmation rating is needed prior to the breed survey. Just wasn't sure with the recent changes if you could do at the same show still. Thanks Geronimo!

Hi Trish
It is my belief that anyone thinking of breed surveying a dog should go for a qualifying show rating as soon as the dog is old enough which is 12 months of age.
To make it really simple: 12 months Show Rating G or SG 16 months BH & AD 18 months the IPO1 'a' stamp at 12 months. OFA at 24 months Breed Survey at 24 months
As of Jan 1, 2004 no more doing the breed survey hold until you have received the show rating that day or next.
