Well, today we had the pleasure of having some wonderful search dogs and their handler come to our campus and do some searching. We had a pretty good turnout for victims: eleven people, not including me. I didn't hide, I got to help wrangle Ruqs. Yeah, like I minded. He he. I got to spend some time with them before the search. Tika, Phoenix, and KC: Tika and Phoenix: Two on One: As well as after: KC, queen of the tube: KC and Tika on the tunnel: KC, master of her domain: Tika on the tunnel: KC in the tunnel: Continuing in the next posts, pictures of the searches!!

The first search of the day involved KC. She doesn't usually do trailing, but did very well for herself today! KC found them: Picture I took of the back of Tika's head due to my camera's delay: After KC, it was Phoenix's turn. He did a great job on this first search. I just wish he'd found the bridge to cross the stream so I didn't have to jump across it. Here they are: The, Nyx headed out to find our two compatriots hiding inside. A job well done: Then we were off to the 'wooded' area of campus to find two other victims. Hot on the trail: Jamie (yep, me) becomes the handler: Finally, we were off to find our two victims in the car. On the road again: And, even though the car left the parking lot (and was in the wrong one to begin with) we finally caught up with them and Nyx found them! There you are!: Overall, it was a GREAT day. Even better than the last SAR demo I went to. Of course, it helps when you know the handler. He he. All five of us, human and canine alike, will sleep well tonite. Ruq will be posting her set of pics in this thread too.

Well we are back and somewhat recovered from our adventure yesterday. Most of our pics are of the dogs just being dogs and having fun. I was happy to have the opportunity to expose all three that went to some things we do not typically have access to and I was pleased with how they all were. I was very happy with KC working an especially difficult track for her even after I goofed with her. She taught me a lesson- let her run it and leave her alone or pay the consequences of being dragged thru places humans cannot fit! I really need to give her more credit for her tracking abilities. Even though she had never run a track like this and with an especially difficult wintern she had not run any type of live track in well over 6 months. I have to admit I was impressed with her. I keep forgetting she is a very good tracker- she just prefers cadaver work. Nyx ran some awesome tracks and just kept going strong all day on all of the different tracks. Well here are some of our fun pics from the day... KC wondering why she can't be color coordinated. KC wondering just how two on one can be fair (yet we won't mention she was winning) Tika at the far end of the girls tunnel.... KC being blinded by the light at the end of the tunnel KC impersonating a lumberjack doing the 'log roll' yet she NEVER lost her balance up there and it had to be slippery with the snow and ice on the tarp. Tika thinking anything you can do, KC, I can do better!
