It's SO great to see a dog like Belschik that had been worked hard all his life, now living the rest of his years being loved and just hanging out. With an occasional work out. Thanks a bunch for the pictures. It's neat seeing other that stacked pictures of a legendary dog. Give that boy a hug from all of us here at GSWDB. Brandi

here's another..hopefully i did ok in lightening it up a little bit..this is david and belschik, same day.. ;D his "auntie" was standing in front of him to keep his attention..he was pretty good for david and josh, he only broke the stack a couple times to come to me oops, how rude of me.. i just want to make it perfectly clear that while i *wish* belschik belonged to me, he does not, he very much belongs to josh and david kiewel www.kiewelworkingdogs.com i am just his proud "aunty" ;D i would hate for people to think i am implying *i* am his owner.

Wow! What a handsome guy! How old did you say he was again?? ummmmm...do you mean josh, david or belschik? all three i consider my "sons"..truth be known i hold belschik as my favorite though ;D the grand old man was born on june 18th, 1992 maybe i should plan a big birthday party for him this year? last year i took him a doggie birthday cake, (chicken flavor i believe) with special doggie frosting...there was nothing noble or "intense" about him when he finally dug his head out of the cake box and looked at all of us with frosting on his head and nose.. he is still going strong, loves his walks every day..(he is up to 2.5miles a day) and still has plenty of snap in his step.i will say one thing about him, he is still VERY strong! when he first came to live with me, i had taken a couple toys out to play with him, well, when i thought we were done, i stuffed one jute roll into my winter coat pocket..he started to want to play more, jumped against me a couple times and grabbed that jute in my pocket and would NOT let GO...lol..i actually had to DRAG him to the other jute toy to get him to let go...hhehehe..all the while, he was trying to pull me and "win"...it was a classic moment.. i still have a couple rolls of film sitting and waiting to be picked up..but those are all just casual house dog pics too..altho there is the ones of all the gang in the dreaded santa hat.........

Ha ha ha. Well, they are ALL very handsome. Both canine and human. That's great to hear that the 'ol guy' is still so driven to work. Sounds like he's a great example of the breed. ;D

Hi Dawg. You're not boring me! He looks like such a grand old man. I did adopt a 10 year old almost 2 years ago & he is such a great guy. His folks had to go in a nursing home & huge, black, old dogs, I hear, are the most unadoptable. People don't know what they're missing, do they. But we know what they're missing. ;D

thanks trigger, i am just so happy to have this old man in my house. he is pure joy to be around, although someone needs to tell him he is almost 12 and should not be so ready to work at the drop of a hat he made a couple flying leaps for my camera, he thought it was a toy he should have josh and david kiewel, his owners, likely cringe when they see pics of him "dressed up" but they are so very happy he is living the good life he so deserves. he is about due to become a daddy again in just a few days, (i think that feb 7th is mom to be's due date), so i will have to make him some doggie cigars to pass out ;D and you are so correct about seniors, they just appreciate everything they get so much.
